Chris was born in Consett, County Durham in 1987. He trained at the Performance Academy, Newcastle College under the direction of Katherine Quist. He then went on to train at The Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre, London graduating in June 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Whilst at Arts Ed, along with many in-house productions, he also sang with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in Good Thing Going - Simply Sondheim (Cadogan Hall) and appeared in a workshop production of the new musical, Sherlock Holmes: The Early Years in which Chris played Sherlock Holmes Upon graduating from Arts Ed. Chris made his West End debut in Monty Python's Spamalot (Palace Theatre), in which he played many characters including a knight, a dancing nun, a random frog, a killer rabbit, and on occasions, Prince Herbert. Following this, he adopted a very squeaky voice and donned a large yellow sponge to play SpongeBob in SpongeBob Squarepants: The Musical (UK Tour). Films that Chris has appeared in include Sherlock Holmes (he gets eaten by a dinosaur!), the short films The Greatest of Men, Blood Stained Memories, Mudlines and the music video for Perfume by Parade. Pantomimes include playing Wishee Washee (as well as a multitude of musical instruments!) in Rock & Roll Aladdin (Shaw Theatre, London); Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (Cleckheaton Town Hall); and Peter Pan (The Anvil, Basingstoke) Chris is also a musician. As a musician he has worked on A Slice of Saturday Night (Upstairs At The Gatehouse) and Dreamboats and Petticoats (UK Tour). Most recently, Chris created the role of Nicky in The Machine Gunners at the Polka Theatre, London. Chris is currently in rehearsals for the new musical Save The Last Dance For Me which opens at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley in the new year. |
